Update on Overseas Mail Advisory – February 17, 2022

The Bermuda Post Office (BPO) would like to advise the public regarding international mail:

International mail flow is increasing between Bermuda and other destinations. We are still seeing delays with our postal partners as their operations return to normal. Transportation via airlines is also experiencing delays and cancelations due to winter weather and resource issues.

International inbound and outbound mail to and from the USA and the UK is arriving and leaving Bermuda regularly. Inbound mail from Canada is experiencing extreme delays as Canada Post is routing mail for Bermuda via the UK. Mail from China routed via Denmark and the Netherlands is being sent to Canada. Outbound mail for Canada is being sent via the USA with the airline. The Bermuda Post Office is in constant communication with our Postal partner advising them of the best routes to Bermuda.

We have experienced significant delays with sending mail to the Caribbean islands but mail is starting to move to go to Antigua, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago as more airline routes within the region start opening up from the USA. Barbados Post has also resumed mail service to St. Vincent, Grenada, Guyana and Dominica. Our partners in the Caribbean region are working diligently to find alternate routes for transporting mail within the region.

We would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding as we work with our partners to ensure international mail flows and routes return to pre-Covid conditions.
