Proper Addressing of Mail

Since August 31, 2009, 85% of all mail that has been returned to sender was due to an incorrect or missing postal code. Your mail will be processed and delivered more timely, efficiently and consistently when all of the required components are used.

To ensure delivery each piece of mail, it must have the following information:

  • Name of the recipient
  • Unit or apartment name/number
  • House/Building number
  • Street name
  • Parish and Postal Code

A Return to Sender address on the top/bottom left corner or back of the envelope is helpful. In the event that the piece of mail can not be delivered it can be returned to the sender quickly and easily.

Download the address correction form which you can use to update your contacts with your correct address.

Non-compliance will result in non-delivery of mail.
