BPO Commemorative Stamp Series

BPO Commemorative Stamp Series

The Bermuda Post Office (BPO) has issued its first commemorative stamp series for 2020, which features Bermuda’s historic bridges.

Bermuda’s bridges have been important in the development of our island going back to 1620. Now, four centuries later, Bermuda can boast of having over 40 bridges throughout its 21 square miles.

The stamp releases feature images of Watford BridgeFlatts Bridge, the Bridge at Norwood and the Causeway Bridge.

The Minister for the Cabinet Office, the Hon. Wayne Furbert said today, “Bermuda’s bridges are unique landmarks which reflect the history and culture of our island. Our infrastructure, especially our roads and bridges played a vital role in the social development and economic growth for all Bermudians. For our 21 square miles we have more than 40 bridges, and the BPO is pleased to offer this stamp series featuring four very striking images of some of Bermuda’s iconic bridges.”

The BPO advised that since the Perot Post Office and the General Post Office Letter floor remain closed, the commemorative stamp issue can be purchased from the sub post offices around the island.
